Interview Seven: Sonata Bowen

Tell us some things about you...

I did plus size modelling, I stopped when I became uncomfortable within my self and didn’t want to jump in front of the camera with a fake sense of confidence. I’m working on a business and currently working two jobs on the side! A strong work ethic I never knew I had until I had my daughter! My inspiration for everything. I’ve chosen the photo I sent through because I feel it represents the me not everyone knew or knows, it also very much represents my style. Reserved, conservative and determined.

This second photo is a time at my most confident.

What is your favourite thing to do for you, daily?

Teach my daughter new things, new colours, new words. I always feel a sense of accomplishment and seeing her feel the same way makes this time so special.

Something you live by (or aim to live by)?
If at first you don’t succeed try and try again!

What’s up next for you?
Currently I am working in a professional job as well as building a business called ISDE, inspired by my husband and daughter!

What L’aura the Label piece do you love / wear the most? Why?
My absolute favourite dress not just from L'aura the label collection but also one of my now staples and go to piece is the Enya Wrap Dress. An incredibly flattering dress being both sexy and conservative. This dress worn so beautifully for any occasion in the summer! I have both white and emerald and as I write, am
now think I may need a new colour! I absolutely love it!

What drew you to L’aura the Label at the beginning?
It’s presence, it’s earthy feel. I love the idea behind it. The healing centre the proceeds are going to is a bonus but the brand and it’s style, image and feel have a good energy about it. The garments are so simple yet bold and I absolutely love the idea of their healing centre!
