Interview Twenty: Jess Lim

Tell us some things about you...
- My family and I moved to New Zealand from Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia when I was 7 years old.

- I grew up doing Tap, Ballet and Jazz. I guess I'm retired now but still love performing when the odd gig opportunity comes up.

- I love to crochet!

- I try take a photo of my outfit most days before work so I get a better sense of my style and remember outfits when I find myself not knowing what to wear with a closet full of clothes. Definitely on the journey of making the most of the clothes I have instead of getting bored of my outfits and buying new clothes!

What is your favourite thing to do for you, daily?
Crochet! I tend to wake up earlier than I need to, probably from the many years of early morning Ballet classes and being a barista, so I try crochet a bit before getting ready for work.

Made using the pattern from @nastja.crochets - "The Florence Cardi".
Other items made from various Youtube tutorials.

Something you live by (or aim to live by)?
To always show my appreciation.

What’s up next for you?
I'd like to see where my role in the marketing/creative industry takes me! Outside of work, I'd like to keep crocheting cool things, travel and eat as much good food as I can.

What L’aura the Label piece do you love / wear the most? Why?
The Dea shirt in Lime Green is my favourite! The colour is so unique. It's a baggy fit on me so super comfortable and can be dressed up for the office.

What drew you to L’aura the Label at the beginning?
What drew me to L'aura the Label was the limited items of clothing and how there weren't always new items/styles being produced constantly. It let me know that each piece of item was well thought through and intentional as they weren't aiming to always keep up with trends.
